The 1^st IUS Graduate Conference

About 1^st IUSGC

The 1^st IUS Graduate Conference was held at International University of Sarajevo (IUS) on 21 and 22 May 2015. The total number of 77 abstracts and 45 full papers were received from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Albania, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Sweden, Ghana, Nigeria, Iran, and other countries. 

During the opening ceremony, IUS Rector Prof. Dr. Yucel Ogurlu, welcomed the participants and wished them a successful conference. IUSGC Chairman, Mr. Yasin Demirtas, also addressed the audience at the official opening of the Conference. Keynote speakers at the conference were Prof. Dr. Rafik Beekun, Nevada University, Prof. Dr. Metin Toprak, International University of Sarajevo, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mojmir Sabolovič, International University of Sarajevo, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Nudžejma Obralić, International University of Sarajevo.  In his speech, Dr. Toprak defined and clarified the professional and academic tracks in research, development and postgraduate studies. Dr. Sabolovič emphasized the innovations and new directions in research, while Dr. Obralić focused on the research findings related to the motivational triggers for academic achievement. 

Best paper awards

The Scientific Committee of the 1^st IUSGC evaluated the submitted papers based on the criteria which included, among others, originality, quality of arguments, research methodology and writing style. The following participants in the Conference won the best paper awards: 

1^st place:             Betul Ismic, Istanbul University, Turkey (                              Pdf)
2^nd place:            Helga Dizdari, Lund University, Sweden (Pdf)
3^rd place:            Kalin Kalinov, St. Kliment Ohridski University, Bulgaria (Pdf)
